Terms Of Service

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These terms follow the order things actually happen in — from before you order, through the doorstep, to the years afterwards when your rights still apply.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Most of what the law gives you doesn't expire at thirty days, and a document organised by clause number tends to bury it.

The contract is made when you place an order — not when you visit the site.

We are an online shop with no retail premises. The address above is for correspondence — it is not open to visitors and returns cannot be dropped off there.

Our shop runs on a third-party e-commerce platform. The contract of sale is between you and Snugleigh LTD alone.

Stage one — Before you order

Who can buy

You must be 18 or over to place an order. You are responsible for the accuracy of the delivery, billing and contact details you give us, and we may cancel an order where those details are incomplete or cannot be verified.

What we say about the products

We describe products as accurately as we can. Dimensions, weight, fibre content and care instructions are published as the manufacturer confirms them. Where a figure has not been confirmed to us, we leave the field blank rather than estimate.

Colours render differently from one screen to another, and dye lots vary slightly between production batches. Minor variation in shade is not a fault — but a product materially different from its description is covered in stage six.

Listings are an invitation to treat, not an offer. We may discontinue a product or limit quantities per customer.

The care label supplied with the product takes precedence over anything on the product page.

Prices

All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at 20%. The total at checkout is the total you pay — no duties, no handling fees, and nothing collected on the doorstep.

Promotional prices apply while the promotion runs or while stock lasts. Where we show a "was" price, it is a price at which the item was genuinely offered for a reasonable period.

Personal use

Products are sold for personal, non-commercial use. Orders evidently placed for resale require our written agreement.

Stage two — When you place the order

How the contract is formed

Submitting your order is an offer to buy. You will receive an automated acknowledgement that we have received it — that acknowledgement is not acceptance.

The contract is formed when we send you confirmation that your order has been dispatched.

When we can refuse

Where stock has run out, payment cannot be authorised, there is an obvious pricing or description error, or we reasonably suspect fraud. If payment has already been taken and we cancel, we refund in full.

An obvious pricing error does not bind us. Where one affects your order we will contact you, and you may proceed at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

Payment

Payment is taken when you place your order, using the methods shown at checkout.

Payments are handled by a PCI-DSS compliant provider. We never see or store your full card details — we receive a confirmation, the card type and the last four digits.

Never send a full card number or security code by email. We will never ask you to.

If a payment is declined or reversed, we may cancel the order.

Stage three — Between the order and the doorstep

Delivery

We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. Processing and delivery times are set out in our Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Estimates can be affected by carrier disruption, severe weather, bank holidays and exceptionally busy periods.

Unless we have agreed a different period, we deliver without undue delay and within 30 days. If we cannot, you may treat the contract as at an end and receive a full refund, or agree a new date with us.

Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 28.

Who carries the risk

Risk of loss or damage stays with us until the goods come into your physical possession, or that of someone you have named to receive them. It does not pass when we hand the parcel to a carrier.

A carrier's delivery scan is evidence that a parcel was delivered. It is not the end of the matter: scans are made at the wrong door and sometimes a day early, and where the record doesn't match what happened, that is something we take up with the carrier. We will not turn you away on the strength of a screenshot.

Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 29.

Changing or cancelling before dispatch

Free of charge, if you reach us in time. Email support@snugleigh.com with your order number as soon as you can. Once an order is with the warehouse it cannot be pulled back — you would take delivery and use the right in stage five.

Wrong addresses

An address with a missing flat number or a transposed postcode is the commonest reason a parcel goes astray, and a parcel lost that way is not one we can replace at our cost. Check it at checkout.

Stage four — When it arrives

Open the parcel and look at what's inside.

If the outer packaging is damaged, something is missing, or you have received the wrong product, contact us within 3 working days of delivery with your order number and photographs of the product, the outer packaging and the shipping label.

The photographs are what our carrier claim rests on — take them before the packaging goes in the bin.

Confirmed cases are resolved by sending you a replacement at no cost to you, with nothing to send back at your expense.

This short window covers what is apparent on arrival. A fault that appears later is dealt with in stage six, and that runs for years.

Stage five — The 14 days after that

Your right to cancel

You may cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The period ends 14 days after the day you, or someone you name, receive the goods.

Email support@snugleigh.com with a clear statement, or use the form at the end of these terms. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

We voluntarily extend this to 30 days from delivery, and the extension applies to sale items on exactly the same terms as full-price ones.

Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

What you may do with the goods first

You may handle them as you would in a shop — unwrap them, unfold them, feel the fabric, and on a heated product connect it briefly to check that it warms.

What you may not do is use them. Where handling goes beyond establishing the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, we may make a proportionate deduction for the reduction in value. Unfolding a blanket to look at it is fine. Using it for three weeks, or washing it, is not — a washed blanket cannot be sold again as new.

We will not refuse the return on that basis. A deduction is an assessment of actual lost value, and we will tell you what it is based on. We do not apply fixed percentages, and missing original packaging is not by itself a reduction in value.

Refunds

We refund the price of the goods plus the standard delivery cost you paid, within 14 days of receiving the goods back or of your evidence that they were sent, whichever is earlier. If you chose an upgraded delivery service, we refund the standard rate.

Refunds go to the original payment method. No restocking fee, no handling fee, no administration charge.

Return postage is yours where you have changed your mind, and ours where the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied. We do not issue prepaid return labels; you choose the carrier, and on a faulty item we reimburse a reasonable tracked service against your receipt.

Email us before sending anything back. We reply within one working day with the return address, which is not the Huddersfield address on this page.

Stage six — The years after that

This is the part most shops leave out, and it is where your rights are strongest.

Faulty goods

Goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

  • Within 30 days of delivery you have the short-term right to reject faulty goods for a full refund.
  • After 30 days you may require repair or replacement. If that fails, or is not done within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may claim a price reduction or exercise the final right to reject.
  • Within the first 6 months a fault is presumed to have been present at delivery. We have to prove otherwise — you do not have to prove anything.
  • You may bring a claim for up to 6 years from delivery in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or 5 years in Scotland.

We pay the cost of returning faulty goods.

Consumer Rights Act 2015, sections 9–11, 19–24; Limitation Act 1980.

What isn't a fault

Normal wear. Pilling caused by friction. Slight colour bleed on the first wash — wash new items separately, especially dark ones. Shrinkage within the tolerance on the care label. Damage from washing against the care label. On a heated product, a break in the heating element after the item has been folded or creased sharply while switched on or in storage.

None of this limits your rights above where the goods were faulty when supplied.

Manufacturer guarantees

Where a product carries a manufacturer's guarantee, its length and cover are stated on the product page. A guarantee is in addition to your rights above and never replaces them. If a guarantee has expired and your Consumer Rights Act claim has not, come to us.

Waste electrical equipment

Electrical products must not be put in household waste — that is what the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means.

As a distance seller of electrical equipment we offer free take-back of your old equipment on a like-for-like basis when you buy a new product from us. Contact customer service to arrange it, or use your local authority's household waste recycling centre.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013.

Applying throughout

Our liability

Our liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Products are supplied for personal and domestic use; where it may lawfully be excluded, we are not responsible for business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breach of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a provision here would give you less than the law does, the law applies.

Our content

The Snugleigh name, logo, product photography, graphics, text and site design belong to Snugleigh LTD or its licensors.

You may save or print material for your own personal, non-commercial use. Copying, adaptation, redistribution or commercial use requires our written permission.

If you believe material on our site infringes your copyright, email us a description of the work and where it appears and we will review it.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit. By sending us a review, photograph or suggestion you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, edit, publish and display it, including in marketing.

What you send must be your own, based on genuine experience, and must not be unlawful, misleading or infringing. You confirm you have disclosed any payment or incentive received in connection with a review.

We do not publish fabricated reviews, and we do not remove a review merely because it is negative.

Using the site

You may use the site for lawful purposes only. You must not distribute malicious code, scrape or crawl it, circumvent its security, impersonate another person, or submit false information.

Where we reasonably believe these terms have been seriously breached we may restrict access. Orders already accepted will still be fulfilled.

We aim to keep the shop available at all times but cannot guarantee it. Maintenance and faults may make it briefly unavailable; confirmed orders are unaffected.

Things outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control — severe weather, carrier disruption, industrial action, government restrictions, technical failure. We will keep you informed and fulfil as soon as we can.

This does not affect your statutory rights where delivery is late or fails.

Third parties

Our site may link to or display third-party content — carrier tracking, manufacturers, social platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Complaints about a third party's own products go to that party.

Your data

Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR. Marketing email goes only to people who have asked for it or bought from us, and every message carries a working unsubscribe. Order confirmations and dispatch notices are not marketing and are sent regardless.

Changes, assignment and the rest

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with the date at the top. Changes do not apply to orders already placed — the terms in force when you ordered are the terms for that order.

You may not assign your rights without our consent. We may assign ours in connection with a merger or sale of the business, without reducing your rights.

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision immediately is not a waiver of it.

If we fall out

Tell us first. Email support@snugleigh.com. We acknowledge complaints within one working day and aim to resolve them within 14 days; where it needs longer we explain why.

We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. We are required to tell you that either way. If we cannot resolve your complaint between us, you remain free to take the matter to court, and free impartial advice is available from Citizens Advice — citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133.

Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes Regulations 2015.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, the law of that part of the United Kingdom applies to you and you may bring proceedings in its courts. As a consumer you may always bring proceedings in the courts local to you.
